Under the contract, Smart Eye will supply integrated Driver Monitoring System and Occupant Monitoring System software for three vehicle models, with commercial vehicle production scheduled to commence in 2029 in Europe.
The scope of work involves embedding driver and occupant monitoring software directly into rear-view mirror assemblies equipped with single cameras capable of capturing infrared and color imagery. This combined architecture tracks driver attentiveness while simultaneously detecting cabin occupants, identifying child safety seats, and monitoring seating postures to meet stringent European New Car Assessment Programme safety standards.
