Smart Eye has been selected by an existing European premium automaker to supply its Driver Monitoring System software for a new electric sports car, generating an estimated revenue of SEK 15 million over the product lifecycle.

SWEDEN Smart Eye AB has secured a new Driver Monitoring System (DMS) software contract from an existing European premium original equipment manufacturer. Under the contract, Smart Eye will supply its advanced AI-driven interior sensing software for a new fully electric sports car model. Based on projected product lifecycle volumes, the order carries an estimated revenue value of SEK 15 million. Production for the newly designated electric vehicle is scheduled to commence in mid-2027.

Smart Eye is a Gothenburg, Sweden-based leader in Human Insight AI and automotive interior sensing technology, providing embedded software solutions that monitor driver behavior and enhance road safety across global vehicle platforms. The customer, an established European premium automotive manufacturer, continues to integrate Smart Eye's software across its expanding electric vehicle lineup. The follow-on design win leverages existing software architectures, allowing seamless integration without requiring additional software alterations.

This contract extension highlights the growing commercial momentum for driver monitoring systems as global vehicle safety regulations tighten. With European vehicle safety frameworks increasingly mandating driver distraction and drowsiness monitoring, original equipment manufacturers are actively embedding AI-powered cabin sensing technology into next-generation vehicle architectures to comply with regulatory standards and improve vehicle safety ratings.

The agreement brings Smart Eye's total tally to 380 design wins across 24 global automotive OEMs, underscoring strong customer retention and multi-model expansion strategy. Follow-on orders from established automotive partners provide high-margin revenue streams for software developers, as implementation requires minimal engineering modifications. This design win reinforces Smart Eye's market leadership in interior sensing and demonstrates steady growth opportunities within the rapidly evolving electric vehicle segment.
