Guideline Geo has secured a tender with South Korea's land and infrastructure safety agency to supply advanced ground-penetrating radar systems, bolstering the agency's subterranean inspection capabilities.

South Korea’s national infrastructure oversight authority, the Korea Authority of Land and Infrastructure Safety (KALIS), has selected Swedish geophysical technology provider Guideline Geo to supply advanced ground-penetrating radar (GPR) systems under a government contract valued at MSEK 3.8 (SEK 3.8 million).

KALIS is a government body tasked with ensuring the safety and structural integrity of public land, buildings, and civil infrastructure across South Korea through rigorous inspection and monitoring standards.

Procured through local distribution partner Bomin Global, the agreement encompasses both two-dimensional MALÅ Easy Locator Core units and high-resolution three-dimensional MALÅ MIRA Compact subsurface imaging arrays. Delivery of the equipment is scheduled for completion within the third quarter.

This procurement underscores an increasing global priority among public authorities to modernize subterranean monitoring and geotechnical hazard assessment. By deploying multi-dimensional radar solutions, municipal and civil engineers can detect hidden underground voids, utility lines, and structural defects before they trigger costly surface collapses or infrastructure failures.

For international equipment manufacturers, government tender wins in major Asian markets highlight the strategic importance of localized distribution channels. Collaborating with established regional partners enables foreign technology suppliers to navigate regulatory frameworks and access public sector tenders, driving expansion in foreign markets.
