INDIA —South West Pinnacle Exploration Limited (SWPEL) has received a Letter of Award from National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) to serve as consultant for detailed exploration of bauxite deposits in Odisha. The contract, valued at ₹117.8 million including GST, is scheduled for completion within 24 months.
The scope of work includes topographical and geological surveys, core drilling operations, data analysis, and submission of draft and final geological reports. The assignment requires adherence to all applicable statutory and regulatory standards governing mineral exploration activities.
NALCO, a central public sector enterprise under India’s Ministry of Mines, is one of the country’s leading integrated aluminium producers with operations spanning mining, refining, and smelting. Strengthening bauxite resource assessment is critical to securing long-term feedstock supply for alumina and aluminium production.
For SWPEL, an integrated drilling and exploration service provider operating across coal, metallic minerals, atomic minerals, hydrocarbons, and groundwater investigations, the award reinforces its position in the non-ferrous mineral exploration segment. The project also signals continued investment in domestic resource evaluation, supporting India’s broader strategy to enhance raw material security and reduce import dependence in the aluminium value chain.
