Southern Score Builders Berhad has secured an RM 180 million main building works contract from Radium Hospital Ayer Keroh Sdn Bhd for a private hospital project in Melaka. Construction is scheduled to begin in October 2026, with completion targeted for May 2028.

MALAYSIA Southern Score Builders Berhad, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Southern Score Sdn Bhd, has accepted a letter of award worth RM 180 million from Radium Hospital Ayer Keroh Sdn Bhd to execute the main building works for a private hospital development in Melaka, Malaysia.

Southern Score Builders Berhad is a Malaysia-based investment holding company primarily engaged in providing end-to-end construction management and building services. Radium Hospital Ayer Keroh Sdn Bhd operates as a healthcare development vehicle under Radium Development Berhad, a prominent property development group in Malaysia.

The comprehensive scope of work encompasses the construction of Phase 1, Phase 1A, and Phase 1B of the project situated at Lot 33076, Mukim Bukit Katil, Melaka Tengah. The contract mandates the supply of plant, materials, tools, equipment, labor, and supervision across multiple execution packages. Specifically, Southern Score Builders will undertake core structural building works, internal and external works, mechanical and electrical services installation, aluminum and glazing works, interior fit-outs for common areas, vinyl flooring, facade treatment and lighting, as well as specialized additions including a link bridge to a therapeutic garden, playground equipment, kitchen equipment, loose furniture, signages, and soft landscaping. The project is scheduled to commence on 15 October 2026, spanning a total contract duration of 19 months with an expected completion date of 14 May 2028.

This contract victory substantially reinforces Southern Score Builders' existing order book, providing clear earnings visibility and contributing positively to the group's net assets and earnings per share starting from the financial year ending 30 June 2027 through to completion. The award underscores ongoing capital expenditure in regional healthcare infrastructure across Malaysia, driven by rising local demand for specialized private medical services and modern healthcare facilities.

From a market perspective, the transaction highlights strategic intra-group synergies within related corporate networks, as the contract constitutes a recurrent related party transaction executed under an existing shareholder mandate. Beyond reinforcing Southern Score Builders' operational foothold in large-scale commercial and specialized construction segments, the project highlights robust investor confidence and steady capital deployment in regional healthcare development.
