ST Engineering’s Marine division has finalized a S$600 million agreement with Abu Dhabi Ship Building to support the development of eight missile gun boats for the Kuwait Naval Force. The six-year sub-contract involves comprehensive platform design and technical integration, with three of the vessels slated for construction at Singaporean shipyards.

ST Engineering Marine has entered into a S$600 million sub-contract with Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB) to provide design and technical systems for a fleet of eight missile gun boats. The vessels are being commissioned for the Kuwait Naval Force, with the project expected to span six years. While ADSB is the primary contractor, the Singapore-based firm will manufacture three boats domestically and supply the full platform design and integration suite for the entire fleet.

This development underscores the growing technical collaboration between Singaporean engineering firms and Middle Eastern defense entities. ST Engineering, a global technology and defense group, provides specialized engineering solutions across the aerospace and marine sectors. ADSB is a UAE-based shipbuilder focused on the construction and maintenance of sophisticated naval and commercial vessels. For Kuwait, the acquisition represents a strategic modernization of its maritime defense infrastructure amid evolving regional security needs.

From an industry perspective, the deal illustrates a trend toward fragmented manufacturing models where design expertise is exported to support local production in the Middle East. For ST Engineering, the contract ensures long-term revenue stability and reinforces its status as a critical supplier in the global naval supply chain. This partnership further validates the competitiveness of Singapore’s maritime technology in high-stakes international defense procurement.
