Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd, collaborating with Hassan Allam Construction in a 50:50 joint venture, has been awarded a US$ 560 million EPC contract for the West Minya Solar Power Project in Egypt, featuring a 1,000 MWac generation plant and a 600 MWh battery storage system.

According to official company disclosures, a 50:50 joint venture between Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd (SWREL) and Hassan Allam Construction has secured a US$ 560 million contract for the development of the West Minya Solar Power Project. Located in Egypt’s Minya Governorate, the infrastructure mandate involves complete engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) responsibilities. SWREL operates globally as a prominent solar EPC services specialist, deploying utility-scale renewable energy assets across multiple continents. Its regional joint venture partner, Hassan Allam Construction, is an established engineering and infrastructure contractor operating extensively throughout Egypt and the broader Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

This capital allocation marks a substantial expansion of large-scale green energy infrastructure within North Africa. The utility-scale complex will integrate a 1,000 MWac photovoltaic generation facility with a 600 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS), alongside transmission networks and grid interconnection infrastructure.
