INDIA —Suprajit Engineering has finalized an agreement to secure a minimum 26% equity interest in Amplus Green Power Private Limited alongside a formal power purchase agreement. Headquartered in Bengaluru, Suprajit Engineering Limited is a prominent global manufacturer of automotive control cables and components, operating multiple manufacturing facilities across domestic and international markets. The transaction involves a financial commitment valued at Rs. 3.84 million, structured across single or multiple tranches to acquire securities in the target firm alongside other participating captive consumers.
The strategic transaction aims to integrate renewable generation directly into the company’s regional operational footprint. By participating as a captive consumer in the developer's solar power installation situated in Uttar Pradesh, the industrial manufacturer seeks to optimize utility expenditures while scaling up sustainable energy adoption across its production plants. Amplus Green Power operates within the commercial power generation sector, specializing in clean energy infrastructure development.
This corporate move reflects a broader trend among heavy manufacturing enterprises seeking to hedge against volatile grid tariffs through dedicated captive renewable power arrangements. Securing long-term solar supply contracts helps heavy industries insulate themselves against rising conventional electricity expenses while simultaneously satisfying internal environmental and decarbonization targets. Such bilateral green energy arrangements allow industrial corporations to meet regulatory sustainability mandates without depending entirely on traditional utility providers.
The completion of the transaction remains bound to standard closing conditions and is anticipated to conclude within a four-month timeframe. The initiative underscores a growing corporate reliance on localized renewable energy pacts to manage overheads and bolster corporate governance metrics centered around environmental responsibility.
