Swegon has been selected to supply cooling and air handling systems for a large data centre development in Hyderabad, with a five-year service agreement. The project’s planned 600 MW capacity highlights growing demand for specialised thermal management as India expands infrastructure for AI and other high-density computing workloads.

INDIA Swegon has secured a supply role for cooling and air handling equipment at a major data centre development in Hyderabad, India, alongside a five-year service agreement covering installation, commissioning, maintenance and ongoing support. The equipment will be manufactured at Swegon’s facility in Mumbai.

The development is planned as a six-building data centre park, with each building comprising two data centre facilities and a combined planned capacity of 600 MW. Operations are expected to begin in the first half of 2027. Swegon’s package is intended to manage the thermal loads associated with AI servers and maintain operating conditions across the facilities.

The award reflects the increasing importance of cooling infrastructure in large-scale data centre construction. As computing density rises, particularly with the deployment of AI systems, operators require higher-capacity and more precisely controlled cooling and ventilation systems. This creates additional demand for specialist HVAC suppliers alongside electrical, engineering and data centre infrastructure contractors.

The project also has implications for India’s domestic industrial supply chain, with the cooling and air handling equipment being produced in Mumbai for deployment in Hyderabad. For data centre developers and investors, the five-year service component provides a longer-term operational support framework, while the planned 600 MW capacity indicates the scale of power and cooling infrastructure required to support the expansion of high-performance computing capacity in the country.

Swegon is a global indoor climate solutions provider focused on ventilation, heating, cooling and climate optimisation systems, with manufacturing and sales operations across multiple markets.
