CANADA —Spanish engineering services group Técnicas Reunidas has secured an engineering, procurement, and construction management contract exceeding 200 million euros from LNG Canada. Spanning an execution timeline of over four years, the scope of work entails building five new compressor stations along the midstream gas pipeline route and executing structural modifications to operational and planned facilities.
Técnicas Reunidas is an international engineering and construction company based in Spain that specializes in designing and executing complex industrial facilities across the oil, gas, power, and digital infrastructure sectors. LNG Canada is an energy joint venture developing a major liquefied natural gas export project in Kitimat, British Columbia, to supply international energy markets.
The contract award follows earlier consulting and front-end engineering design services delivered by Técnicas Reunidas during the initial development phases of the project. The expansion aligns with the company's SALTA Strategic Plan, which prioritizes business expansion across North America, where the engineering group has identified a prospective project pipeline valued at 28 billion euros spanning gas processing, combined-cycle power generation, and data center energy infrastructure.
This development highlights expanding capital investment in North American midstream energy infrastructure to support long-term liquefied natural gas export capacity and regional power demand. For energy producers, engineering service providers, and industrial equipment suppliers, building midstream capacity stabilizes feed-gas supply networks, enhances system pressure management, and strengthens logistics reliability across primary export corridors.
