INDIA —A 75 MW wind-solar hybrid facility in Maharashtra has reached full commercial operations following the completion of its final 36.25 MWp solar phase in Bhigwan, Pune district. The solar infrastructure operates alongside a 50 MW wind component situated at Nilanga in Latur district, which was brought online in stages during July and August. Developed through project vehicle Juniper Green Beam Eight, the asset delivers power under a 75 MW power purchase agreement with Tata Power, marking the addition of a major utility to the developer's client base.
Integrating complementary generation profile solar capacity during peak daylight hours and wind during off-peak periods addresses the inherent intermittency of single-source renewable assets. By balancing supply fluctuations at the grid level through geographically separated substations, multi-technology projects enable power distribution companies to procure more stable clean power without over-relying on conventional thermal backup.
