DENMARK —Siemens Mobility has awarded Finnish technology provider Teleste a contract valued at approximately €40 million to deliver next-generation on-board passenger information and CCTV systems for the Copenhagen S-bane network, operated by Danish State Railways (DSB). Under the agreement, Teleste will furnish comprehensive solutions including public announcement, passenger communication, and intelligent video surveillance systems powered by its proprietary S-ARRIVE® software platform. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in 2028 and run through 2040, with the initial fleet entering commercial passenger service in 2032.
This contract supports Denmark's landmark rail modernization initiative, which entails deploying 226 fully automated four-car trainsets-with an option for up to 100 additional units-to create the world's largest open automated railway system. As part of the most substantial investment in the 90-year history of the S-bane network, Teleste's equipment will be integrated into the new fleet's flexible passenger layout.
