UNITED KINGDOM —The UK Ministry of Defence has awarded a GBP 2 billion, 15-year contract to Omnia Training to deliver the British Army's Army Collective Training Service (ACTS). According to the ministry's official announcement, the Raytheon UK-led consortium, comprising Capita, Cervus, Rheinmetall UK and Skyral, will work with the British Army to introduce an integrated collective training system supported by digital, virtual and synthetic capabilities.
The programme is intended to modernise military preparedness by combining live exercises with data-driven and immersive training environments that enable forces to train more flexibly for evolving operational requirements. The initiative is expected to improve readiness while supporting the Army's ability to prepare personnel for increasingly complex missions.
The contract is expected to generate wider benefits for the UK's defence technology and training industries by increasing demand for advanced simulation platforms, analytics, systems integration and domestic defence expertise. The award is also expected to create 270 jobs while sustaining a further 150 positions across the supply chain.
For defence contractors and technology providers, the long-term agreement signals continued UK investment in digital military capabilities and collaborative training infrastructure, creating opportunities for innovation and industrial participation over the programme's lifespan.
