INDIA —Uno Minda Limited has committed an estimated capital expenditure of INR 14.15 billion toward four strategic industrial projects across India. The multi-division investment aims to expand manufacturing footprints, upgrade production capacities, and fulfill rising procurement requirements from leading vehicle manufacturers. The initiative encompasses dedicated developments in two-wheeler alloy wheels, aluminium castings, moulding components, and interior and exterior sealing systems.
A cornerstone of this capital deployment involves establishing a greenfield aluminium casting facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. Situated on company-owned land along Thally Road, the new plant addresses capacity bottlenecks at the existing local site. With an allocated capital expenditure of INR 5.10 billion, the facility will scale regional casting capacity from approximately 13,000 metric tonnes to 30,000 metric tonnes at peak operations. Phased implementation is scheduled to commence production by the final quarter of fiscal year 2028, leading up to a complete operational consolidation by the first quarter of fiscal year 2029. The expanded plant will specialize in structural parts, electric vehicle powertrain applications, and roughly one million high-pressure die-casting two-wheeler alloy wheels.
Concurrently, the company is executing a targeted capacity expansion and facility relocation in Kharkhoda, Haryana, backed by an investment of INR 1.55 billion. This project introduces a 3.3 million-unit manufacturing line for two-wheeler alloy wheels while strategically relocating two million units of existing capacity from Supa, Maharashtra. Slated for phased rollout with initial production expected by the final quarter of fiscal year 2028, the Kharkhoda expansion reinforces geographical supply chain resilience and deepens market penetration across northern automotive manufacturing hubs.
