UNITED STATES OF AMERICA —Perini Management Services, Inc. (PMSI), a subsidiary of Tutor Perini Corporation, has been selected by the U.S. Coast Guard to deliver an $81.8 million design-build project at Base Kodiak in Alaska, according to an official announcement. The contract covers the construction of 30 family housing units, associated site infrastructure, and the replacement of a major water storage facility serving the installation.
The development includes 15 duplex buildings comprising 20 three-bedroom and 10 four-bedroom residences, alongside demolition work, utility connections, roadways, sidewalks, and other site enhancements. The project also involves replacing an existing 653,800-gallon water tank and integrating the new system with the base’s water network to support domestic supply and fire protection requirements.
The award highlights continued federal investment in military housing and critical utility infrastructure, sectors that remain important sources of long-term construction demand. The project is expected to strengthen living conditions for military personnel while improving the reliability of essential services at one of the Coast Guard’s key operational facilities.
For contractors, engineering firms, and infrastructure investors, the contract reflects sustained public-sector spending on defense-related assets. Work is scheduled to begin immediately, with substantial completion targeted for November 2028. The contract value will be incorporated into Tutor Perini’s backlog during the second quarter of 2026.
