AZERBAIJAN —TotalEnergies has finalized an agreement with Vallourec for the provision of more than 16,000 tons of advanced tubular goods and line pipes intended for the infrastructure buildout of the Absheron gas field located in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. TotalEnergies is a major multi-energy enterprise engaged in the production and supply of oil, biofuels, natural gas, green gases, renewables, and electricity on a global scale. Vallourec operates as an international manufacturer specializing in premium seamless tubular solutions designed for demanding industrial environments and energy extraction projects.
The procurement package encompasses specialized Oil Country Tubular Goods fitted with advanced semi-flush connections and proprietary dope-free finishes to optimize operational efficiency and limit environmental disturbance in marine settings. Additionally, the agreement incorporates approximately 159 kilometers of treated line pipes designed to withstand corrosive offshore and onshore conditions. Operational support will be administered through regional facilities to align with project timelines.
The Absheron initiative aims to extract up to 6 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually alongside significant condensate yields from waters extending roughly 500 meters deep. Output from this reserve is intended to service domestic energy requirements in Azerbaijan while facilitating export channels to enhance broader energy stability across surrounding markets.
Securing this contract highlights the critical role advanced manufacturing plays in supporting complex marine energy developments. Suppliers capable of meeting rigorous technical specifications and tight deployment schedules are positioned to capture substantial value from offshore resource monetization efforts, particularly as regional authorities prioritize domestic supply augmentation and export infrastructure resilience.
