Swedish software vendor Vitec Software Group has acquired Finnish technology firm ZMartek Oy through its Vitec Tietomitta unit, enhancing its vertical market software portfolio for recycling, landfill, and waste-to-energy operational management.

FINLAND —Vitec Software Group, acting through its subsidiary Vitec Tietomitta Oy, completed the acquisition of all outstanding equity in Tampere-based software provider ZMartek Oy. The transaction, executed as an all-cash purchase, integrates ZMartek into Vitec's specialized waste management business unit to enhance its software capabilities across the Nordic region.

Founded in 2016, ZMartek develops resource planning software tailored for the recycling sector. Its primary product, Reccu, automates weighing, load tracking, transportation logistics, pricing, and billing for landfill and waste-to-energy operators. In the fiscal year 2025, ZMartek generated SEK 4 million in revenue with a team of four employees. The acquiring parent entity, Vitec Software Group AB, is a Umeå-headquartered provider of vertical market software listed on Nasdaq Stockholm, generating SEK 3.633 billion in net sales during 2025 across its 1,870-person workforce.

This consolidation addresses growing market demands for specialized operational software within resource management and environmental services. By incorporating ZMartek’s domain-specific tools into its broader product ecosystem, Vitec Tietomitta expands its reach within Finland's waste management and recycling sector. The move reflects a broader trend among vertical market software providers toward acquiring niche solutions to secure deeper market penetration and build comprehensive, end-to-end platforms.

For enterprise software vendors and investors in vertical SaaS, the deal illustrates how targeted add-on acquisitions can generate immediate earnings accretions while fortifying competitive positioning in critical infrastructure sectors. The integration enables Vitec to strengthen client retention and cross-selling potential across waste management operators, while positioning its software portfolio to benefit from increasing regulatory and operational focus on sustainable resource utilization.
