INDIA —Solar engineering, procurement, and construction provider Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited has secured a Letter of Award for a 450 megawatt-peak ground-mounted solar power facility located in the Bikaner district of Rajasthan. Awarded by an undisclosed domestic independent power producer through an arm's-length transaction, the project contract encompasses comprehensive turnkey execution, covering engineering design, material procurement, site construction, equipment inspection, testing, and final grid commissioning by fiscal year 2028.
Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited is an Indian solar engineering and renewable energy solutions enterprise specializing in utility-scale solar project EPC services and operation management. The company operates as the engineering arm of the broader Waaree Group, delivering clean energy infrastructure across industrial and utility sectors.
This award expands the company's order backlog following previous utility-scale contract wins, including an 800 megawatt-alternating current solar installation and a 291 megawatt-peak solar project integrated with a 280 megawatt-hour battery energy storage system scheduled for delivery across fiscal years 2027 and 2028. The Bikaner region represents a strategic solar cluster in Western India due to its high solar irradiance and expanding transmission grid connectivity.
The contract reflects ongoing capital deployment toward large-scale renewable generation in India's primary solar corridors. For independent power producers, equipment vendors, and clean energy developers, expanding utility-scale solar development strengthens regional energy security, supports national decarbonization goals, and provides steady long-term cash flow visibility for engineering contractors.
