Zigly Pet Care, the direct-to-consumer pet care arm of Cosmo First, has acquired Prolife Speciality Vet Clinic in Malad, Mumbai. The transaction marks Zigly's third clinic acquisition, aimed at scaling its omnichannel veterinary infrastructure and expanding clinical capacity.

INDIA —Cosmo First's pet care subsidiary, Zigly Pet Care, has formally finalized the buyout of Prolife Speciality Vet Clinic LLP located in Malad, Mumbai. Established in 2000 under the management of Dr. S. M. Gadge, the veterinary facility serves nearly 20,000 animal patients and maintains an annualized run rate of INR 43.6 million. Under the terms of the transaction, the clinic will retain its complete medical workforce, centre manager, and operational personnel to guarantee patient care continuity, while transitioning into a continuous round-the-clock service model over the next nine to twelve months.

Founded as part of industrial conglomerate Cosmo First, which was incorporated in 1981, Zigly operates as an integrated direct-to-consumer ecosystem offering clinical healthcare, grooming, pharmacy, and retail products across major Indian metropolitan areas. The addition of the Malad location marks Zigly's third strategic veterinary practice acquisition, following earlier additions of Small Animal Clinic & Surgical Centre in Khar West and Dr. Santa's Pet Clinic. This targeted inorganic strategy supplements the brand's greenfield expansion footprint across India's urban markets.

The consolidation of independent veterinary clinics reflects broader structural shifts in India's rapidly growing pet care sector. As pet ownership expands nationwide, demand from pet owners is shifting significantly toward institutionalized, highly specialized clinical services and round-the-clock emergency medical capabilities. Corporate consolidators are increasingly acquiring mature, neighbourhood-focused practices with established patient rosters to instantly gain local market share and reduce customer acquisition timelines.

For investors and industry participants, Zigly's buy-and-build consolidation strategy highlights how established industrial groups are leveraging balance sheet strength to build scale in fragmented consumer healthcare verticals. Integrating single-doctor practices into unified omnichannel platforms enhances clinical capabilities, improves supply chain efficiency across diagnostics and pharmaceuticals, and increases long-term customer lifetime value through bundled services.
